WIND TUNNEL COURSE

The Wind Tunnel Bodyflight & Freefall Control course is a ground-based alternative to freefall, ideal for learning and refining flying skills in a controlled environment. It allows participants to safely develop body awareness, balance and stability before or alongside real skydives.

Course Objectives

Participants will:

  • Learn the basics of stable bodyflight (belly-to-earth position).

  • Improve balance, coordination and fine control of movement in airflow.

  • Build confidence and reduce fear before actual skydives.

  • Understand how body position affects speed, direction and stability.

  • Practice communication and discipline in a high-intensity environment.

What You Will Learn

1. Theory & Briefing

  • Introduction to tunnel operation and safety rules

  • Bodyflight principles: center of gravity, surface area, air resistance

  • Hand signals and communication with tunnel instructors

  • How to enter, fly and exit the tunnel safely

2. Practical Bodyflight Sessions

  • Stable neutral position for safe, controlled flight

  • Adjusting speed and height using legs, hips and arms

  • Basic forward/backward, side and rotational movements

  • Building muscle memory for freefall posture and corrections

  • Progressive challenges based on individual comfort and skill

3. Mental & Physical Conditioning

  • Breathing control and relaxation under strong airflow

  • Staying calm in confined/high-sensory environments

  • Simple stretching and preparation to reduce fatigue and tension

Course Format

  • Duration: Typically 1 theory briefing + multiple short flight blocks in the tunnel (e.g., 10–20 minute packages divided into shorter sessions).

  • Method: Safety briefing, off-air practice, then repeated tunnel sessions with real-time instructor feedback.

  • Group Size: Very small groups or individual sessions for maximum control and learning speed.

Who Can Join?

  • Complete beginners who want a safe first step toward skydiving

  • Existing or future skydivers who want to refine their freefall skills

  • Individuals wanting to challenge themselves, improve body control and overcome fear of high-speed airflow

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Basic physical fitness and no major joint, neck or heart problems

  • Compliance with tunnel operator’s height/weight limits and safety policies

  • Following instructor’s hand signals and instructions at all times
